| Now, concerning the wisdom you requested for dealing with the negative people in your life, negative people who speak down to you and undermine your hope must be dealt with immediately. It is extremely difficult to maintain your faith while being bombarded by negative conversation or persecution from negative people. The Bible clearly instructs the believer to eliminate or redefine negative relationships.
Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. 1Corinthians 15:33 Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth. As coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire; so is a contentious man to kindle strife. The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly. Proverbs 26:20-22 Negative influences in your life can be avenues for the devil to interfere with the quality of your life. You must choose to establish non-negotiable guidelines and criteria to govern all of your relationships. When others compromise your relationship standards and guidelines, you must confront them immediately to attempt to rectify the offense. If your confrontation reveals that the relationship transgression was intentional and there is no sense of repentance, you must have the strength of character to end the relationship or severely restrict its influence in your life.
